You’ll need:
5 lb+/- Mehrten Ranch beef bones
1 onion, quartered
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
3–4 garlic cloves
1–2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Salt to taste
Water to cover

Step 1: Roast
Place bones on a baking sheet and roast at 425°F for 30–45 minutes until browned.

Step 2: Simmer
Transfer bones to a large pot or slow cooker. Add vegetables, vinegar, and water to cover.

Step 3: Cook Low and Slow
Simmer gently for 12–24 hours. A slow cooker works great.

Step 4: Strain and Use
Strain the broth. Use right away, refrigerate, or freeze in quart containers.

Use it for:
Soups, stews, gravy, sauces, rice, beans, braising liquid, ramen, pho-style broth, or sipping broth.
